Very good movie! Its sorta an art film, mixed with some extreme violence and even a horror undertone and one point during the movie. Not to mention a few amazing drive sequences. True there are long pauses in the dialog but thats because you know what they're thinking. If you dont, then the only movies you can enjoy are brainless movies like Transformers. ( I like Transformers too but I know its a brainless movie)

Yawn, actually fell asleep for the first time in ten years. This was soooooo slow. Also the toothpick doesn't make a tough guy. He did not fit the part.

Honestly, awesome movie! Yeah, there were some awkward silences, not to mention the 80's music, but this movie kicked ass. I especially liked how it was filmed, it definitely set a certain tone. Very different to see Gosling act such a violent role, but it was very good to see him branching out. This movie was suspenseful, punctuated by real life, graphic violence; very brutal, very real. Good story, good flick. See it now.

A great movie...but if you're looking for Transformer 3 action, go elsewhere.

This movie was total bullshit!! There were so many pauses it was ridiculous. What the hell was Ryan Gosling thiking by accepting this role? I guess the fact that he had no lines to memorize was the deal breaker. What a complete waste of time and money. Do not see this movie, you will literally die of bordeom. The trailer for this movie was completely misleading. Aside from the abrupt scenes of gory violence, NOTHING HAPPENS IN THIS MOVIE!!!!! Gosling's sudden fascination with the main female character was completely unrealistic. The constant staring contests between Gosling's character and "Irene" were soooooooooooooooo stupid and utterly annoying. What the hell was the relevance of i

I just loved the way this movie was shot. The mood, music and rising tension until it explodes in violence that admittedly is very graphic. Not for everyone, but probably my favourite movie of the year.

Don't bother with it. It's a very slow movie with intermittant gore. Unless you enjoy watching still pictures for 15 seconds at a time separated by lots of blood, stay home...or take a book with you.

Understated brilliance by Gosling as the reluctant hero a la Eastwood's 60's westerns. Definitely not a "Fast & Furious" so look elsewhere for CGI car chases and 'splosions! Think Bullitt if Michael Mann had directed. Beware the graphic violence that punctuates this otherwise quiet, and surprisingly moving film.
