Interesting story, not as bad as some folks thought, had a realistic look where lighting seemed totally natural, shots were tight enough where the perspectives were realistic. Has that new 'digital' video camera 'indie film' look to it which is not marked by big Hollywood fancy lighting surrounding it. Story was very mundane in a realistic way, nothing gloriously spectacular with a big boom of action movies. The horror of life amongst lethal unreliable and unpredictable thugs were depicted very well. Worth the watch if you understand what is being done on screen.

Not what I was expecting at all...but so glad I saw it! Ryan Gosling was dark, tragic and perfect. Carey Mulligan was lovely as always. Definitely not for everyone...but for me, it was awesome.

Totally love the character played by Gosling, his performance is getting to another level. The story plot is different from all other "cars and women" movies, which I really appreciate and am surprised by it.

Ryan Gosling is AMAZING. This is the most intense movie I have ever seen from start to finish...enough to need a drink after lol. Awesome soundtrack too!
