Very telling movie. Outstanding portrayal of such a revival in the 1700's.

Not a bad movie. It's quite moving really. The music is inspirational and beautiful. The influence of Whitefield on Franklin and eventually the country is impressive. But one could easily be led to believe that Franklin was a Christian convert and therefore made this a Christian nation. He was not. Near the end of his life, he wrote that he had doubts about the divinity of Jesus, believing that the moral system of Jesus was "the best the world ever saw or is likely to see," but that it had been corrupted by dogma and leaders interested in power.

This poignant movie about the friendship between George Whitfield (famous evangelist) and Benjamin Franklin is powerful, emotional, and inspirational. The commonality between Christianity and the founding of our nation are apparent: freedom for all. George Whitfield unified the country under God. The founding fathers built upon this unity and depended upon God as they wrote our Constitution. A must-see for all Christians, students, pastors, and patriots.
